One liver for two
The doctors from Novosibirsk State hospital have carried out very unique operation they managed to transplant one liver to two people. It is worth mentioning that such operation was carried out for the first time in our country. The special technology which was used in this operation called in situ splitting which means dividing liver in two inside the donor’s body. Such technology is more efficient and helps to increase the chances of better results. The similar operation was in 2014 but back then the transplanted organ wasn’t divided inside donor’s body.

Today on January 19 all believers celebrate one of the main holidays the Epiphany according to the traditions that day people dive into ice-hole in order to wash away all the bad things that happened to them. Despite the freezing weather in Omsk about 25 thousand people decide to dive into ice-hole. In all there were made 41 ice-holes in Omsk and mostly young people and families came to celebrate this holiday and dive in. To make this action more comfortable near all ice-holes were put special tent where people could change their clothes and get warm. Many people said that after bathing in cold water they felt that they have more energy. And as a part of tradition before bathing the priests said prayers in order to give water miraculous powers.
