The debut of Omsk figure skater
A 14-year old Polina Zurskaya debuted at such high-level competition and won it. The girl (now she lives and trains in Moscow) won two previous laps of the competition and she won gold medal in the final which took place in Catalonia last weekend. Omsk sportsman overran another Russian sportsman Maria Sotskova and Japanese one.

Omsk has its own road fairy
Veronica Bobrus got famous because she decided to take all in her own hands and repair the city’s roads. On December 8th the video with Veronica was published at one of the social networks there the girl with the help of palette-knife and the bucket of concrete is fixing one of the many potholes. Common citizens cheered up the girl in her deed but the local administration didn’t. Veronica has already got a nickname Road fairy and got famous not only in other cities but also abroad. Even BBC journalists have interviewed the girl. “I got fed up with the state of our roads. I keep hitting potholes, so I thought I'd just go and fill them”, says Veronica to journalists adding that so far she has repaired five potholes.
