Debut of Omsk strongman at powerlifting world championship 

This is the first serious championship where Michael Shivlyakov took part before he participated only in power extreme tournaments. It is worth mentioning that the organizers of the championship invited Michael in person to participate so our strongman performed in professional category where there were 14 other participants. But unfortunately Michael didn’t win the gold medal it went to strongman from Bulgaria but our Siberian showed also a good result he won silver medal plus all the winners got to receive a bonus cash in amount of 2000, 1250 and 750 dollars accordingly.

Scottish in Siberia 

Last year Scott Crayton from Scotland took part in Christmas marathon and got People's Choice Award for the most interesting costume. The foreign guest was dressed in kilt and he reached the finish line with a bagpipes but he wasn’t just holding the musical instrument he was playing it. “It was a big surprise for me that everybody was very supportive and friendly I took part in many different marathons but the best one is here in Siberia”, says Scott. As it was found out Scott is going to take part in upcoming Christmas marathon again and he will bring with him kilt and bagpipes so just to be loyal to the tradition. Christmas marathon will be on January 7th, 2016 and everybody can register via this website runsim.ru. all applications accepted until 31st of December.

Great start for Paralympian athletes 

Natalia Kocherova and Grigory Murygin proved once again that they are the leaders in Russian national team in biathlon. This time the competition was in Tumen which gathered together 80 athletes from Norway, Germany, USA, South Korea, France, Finland and Russia so everything started from ski programme. If we talk about Omsk athletes who right now represent Moscow they got their awards on the second day of the competition. Grigory Murygin in a race of 15 kilometers showed pretty good result of 42.19,7 minutes and won the bronze medal but on December 5th Grigory showed the best result in a race of 800 meters and won gold medal. On December 6th there was biathlon competition and again Grigory Murygin in a race of 15 kilometers became the second. For Natalia Kocherova her first award in Tumen was silver medal in biathlon race of 12,5 kilometers.

Siberian students are best at hip hop dancing 

The dancing tournament Hip Hop Unite - 2015 was from December 1st up to December 5th at Martinique Island so there were many dancing groups from 14 different countries. Three groups represented our country two of them are from Siberia the third one is from Ural. All of our dancing groups ended to be winners in this tournament. The Umka Strike band from Krasnoyarsk became best among the age 7-13 years old and another team from Krasnoyarsk Scream became the best in junior group from 13-17 years and the band from Yekaterinburg won gold medal among adults.
