The scientists from Tomsk State University are trying to recycle earthworms into comestible protein and elements for cosmetic and medicine. As an experiment the scientists are working with red Californian earthworm which can recycle waste better than others. First, the scientists studied the possibilities of these worms and how fast they can recycle manure, food waste and silt into highly effective fertilizer like vermicompost and now the scientists are focusing their attention on how fat the worms can gain biomass. Plus the protein which comes from red Californian earthworm can be used in manufacturing medicine and cosmetic. For example in some countries like China, Vietnam, Korea and Japan has already been launched such manufacturing process. According to Sibnovosti.ru the scientists from Tomsk State University are planning to propel their industry to business level.

Today, on 28th of July, is the international day of fighting with hepatitis and the main aim of this is to inform people about this terrible disease. According to the statistics 500 million people around the world live with hepatitis B and C and without proper treatment a person can have problems with liver like cirrhosis or cancer. But that’s not all every year 1.5 million people die from hepatitis B and C faster than those people who have HIV or AIDS. According to official data in Omsk oblast 48.8% of people have HBsAg, 15% have chronic hepatitis B and 29.4% chronic hepatitis C. To avoid the hepatitis infection you need to take some precautions like not to use somebody’s razors, hairbrushes or toothbrushes.
