Omsk oblast became a chosen place for white stock
As its home the bird has chosen a water-tower in Bogoduhovka village which is in Nazyvaevskiy district. Sergey Soloviev the Doctor of Biological Sciences and professor from Omsk State University named after F.M. Dostoevsky said that this is the first time when white stock decided to settle here and there were no mentions about it in scientific works. A few times these birds were seen in forest-steppe zone of Kurganskaya oblast but Nazyvaevskiy district became the most northern and eastern “home” for white stock. The scientists of our region said that new resident will feel comfortable here and be able to find a variety of food like warms, frogs, mice, moles, marmots and others. The white stocks have already been here for a little while since June 2015 and that means they are going to settle here and it is sort of a historic moment because we can witness the formation of Siberian population of white stocks.

Life before dinosaurs
An amazing discovery was made in Novosibirsk oblast there the worker of Novosibirsk State museum of local lore Andrey Mugako found the fossils of marine animals dated 400 millions of years. Andrey discovered it by accident while having a vacation near the open pit in Toguchinskiy district. As it was later stated the exhibits are the fossils of corals, sea-urchins and lilies all the fossils belong to Devonian when life just started to develop on land. Back to that time 400 million years ago the territory of western Siberia was the bottom of paleo-Asiatic ocean and Novosibirsk oblast was a good shallow water.

From China to Europe through Omsk
In Urumchi has been held a third forum devoted to developing the cities which are the part of economical belt of the Silk Road. There were a lot of participants the delegations from 55 cities and 28 enterprises not only Omsk was a representative from Russian but also Yalta and Barnaul. One of the main questions which were discussed is building of high speed railway which goes from China to Europe through Omsk. Plus in follow up of the forum Omsk was included in the forum’s direction the next forum will be in four years.
