A very unusual snow covered the mountains in natural preserve of Khakassiya the scientists say that this type of precipitation is not dangerous for people. The red snow was found at the high of 1700 meters near the mountain ridge Shaman. The red color snow got from unicellular algae which haven’t been studied fully by scientists yet. This alga can live in low temperature and has special pigment thanks to which it has red color. Snow and ice algae are very interesting group of organisms because they can grow very fast under the temperature of zero degrees and also are able to survive during frosts.
