Sending snails to the Moon

The Siberian scientists proposed an idea to feed astronauts with snails and it’s not actually a bad idea because snails can satisfy human need of animal protein. The scientists from Institute of Biophysics Siberian Branch of RAS are trying to create self-contained systems of life support which will be used under colonization of other planets. During the working process it has been found out that the basic element of such autonomous structures may be snails as a nourish source for people. The specialists stated that the univalve (otherwise called Achatina fulica) is quite nourish product and has a low fat level only 6% plus its fried meet tastes like liver. But it is not all advantages of the univalve the other one is that this snail is quite small and very easy to breed plus it can recycle inedible biomass of plants and food waste like salad, potato peelings and etc. However the authors say that the snail project has some disadvantages and is not studied completely.
