Omsk will host the festival of Vladimir Spivakov

On 1st and 2nd of June in Concert Hall there will be IV festival named after Vladimir Spivakov within the framework of which Omsk citizens will have an opportunity to hear one of the best Symphony orchestra of the world - National philharmonic orchestra of Russia conducted by national artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov. Mostly there will be played the musical compositions of Russian composers. The first concert programme is devoted to remarkable Russiam composer Dmitry Shostakovich. As Vladimir Spivakov said Shostakovich is a kindred spirit for him and he knew him in person. The second programme is Magic in music which consists of peaces of music based on fairy tales plots. The National philharmonic orchestra of Russia will play famous musical compositions of Rimskiy-Korsakov, Luadov, Musorgskogo and Chaykovskiy. The festival started in 2001 and at first it was held in Moscow but in 2012 Omsk became the third city after Moscow and Perm which hosted the festival.

Omsk athlete came off second-best

As it was expected Viking team from Iceland where is Hafþór Björnsson who is famous for his role in the TV show Game of Thrones won the tournament World’s Ultimate Strongest Team. But unfortunately our athletes Mikhail Shivlyakov and Dimitar Savatinov didn't even get into top three. The tournment where eight countries took part in was in Doncaster, England on May 30. During one day the athletes had to go through six different physical exercises and plus as a bonus all athletes were proposed to set a new record by carrying 220-kilogramme stone but no one expressed willingness to do that however at the desire of the audience Hafþór Björnsson tried to set the record but with no success. As it was already said iur athletes didn't get into top three they only came the fifth and the result could have been better but the lack of teamwork during training had done its part.
