Omsk citizen will find out more about modern dance

Our city will host dancers and choreographers from all over the world. Today in press-center of MKR-Media the organizers and participants of IV International festival of modern dance which will be on April 23 up to 26 told about dance competition which will be within the limits of the festival and about tendencies in modern dance in general. The juries are Olga Pona (Chelyabinsk), Dmitrijs Gaitjukevichs (Riga) and Aart Haughey (Netherlands) and they pointed out that every year Omsk dance festival is getting bigger and bigger and also it is developing constantly. Each dance work the jury will evaluate according 10-point system and there will be three nominations which are solo or duet, group performance and show. As the jury say it is very difficult to evaluate a modern dance because there are no official rules for it. Aart Haughey thinks that each member of the jury has his own rules for evaluation because there differen types of modern dance in each country for example in Europe dancers and choreographers try to get rid of many elements in contemporary dance but in Russia it is vice versa people here try to bring some new elements. Also the visitors will be able to see the performances of famous Russian and international dance theaters of modern dance and plus there will be master classes of Russian and international choreographers and dance projects from Chelyabinsk, Omsk, Latvia, Italy, UK and the Czech Republic.
