There will be geoglyph in Omsk which could be seen from space
By May 9 there will be a special sign devoted to the Great victory day and this sign will be made out of trees so they will be planted the way that they will arrange the phrase 70th War anniversary. This sign will be placed in Lubinsky District and it is known that the size of each letter will be 100x75 meters and it is needed about 35 young plants of Scots pine to make the phrase. It is planned that this phrase will be seen from planes which take off from Omsk airport and also from space satellite. Omsk geoglyph will be one of the biggest which already exist in Russia.

Hockey players and prisoners will write the total dictation this year
The global educational event promises to be the biggest one in all years already this Saturday on April 18 all over the world will be the volunteer even where everyone can check their literacy. And it is very good that every year the scale of the event grows and the number of people too. This year Omsk became one of the leaders city which have the biggest number of places where you acan write the total dictation and Omsk shares the place with St.-Petersburg and leaders are Moscow and Novosibirsk. The number of people who want to check their literacy is still growng and it is already more than last year. This year the head of Omsk State University named after Dostoyevskiy Aleksey Yakub will write the dictation and not only him but also the players from Omsk hockey team and 10 prisoners from pre-trial detention center No. 1 and the total dictation will be held for the second time in the last mentioned institution. This year many famous omsk people will read the text of the total dictation like the governor Victor Nazarov, The Minister of education of the region, officials from Omsk city council, actors, TV presenters and others. The total dictation will start at 3 o'clock in 28 different places in Omsk and in 37 places of district areas.

Volleyball players from Omichka are on the list of Olympic candidates
Russian Olympic Committee has published the list of sportsmen who are the candidates for the national volleyball team which will participate in Olympic Games in Brazil in 2016. Five Omsk sportsmen are in this list who are Anastasiya Shlyahova, Ekaterina Orlova, Daria Isaeva, Margarita Kurilo and Daria Talsheva. Plus two ex-players from Omichka are also in this list they are Yulia Kutukova and Yulia Podskalnaya. But the number of Omsk sportsmen in this olympic list might be decreased because soon two players will leave the team Ekaterina Orlova and Anastasiya Shlyahova.
