Omsk citizens will be able to see partial solar eclipse

This week the moon will compeletely cover the sun however in Omsk the solar eclipse will be seen only for 42%. The scientists told that it will happen on Friday, March 20 and Omsk citizens will be able to see the rare phenomenon the partial solar eclipse. It will all start at 16:02 local time and will last until 16:56 exactly at this time the eclipse will reach its pinnacle. As the head of Omsk planetarium Vladimir Krupko said people need to be prepared in they want to see the eclipse because to see it by the unaided eye will be impossible so sun glasses won't help you it is better to find some old floppy disks or welder's glass and sometimes people use X-ray film.

Omsk sky was lighted up by Polar light

Omsk citizens shared pictures of Polar light which is quite rare for our region in social networks. This night people from Central and northwestern part of Russia saw very beautiful Polar light and many people took pictures of the sky with blue and green glow. Omsk citizens also noticed this phenomenon and according to the head of Omsk planetarium Vladimir Krupko the reason for Polar light was strong magnetic storm which was caused by solar flares happened two days ago.
