Omsk should pay attention to development of street railways but not to the construction of new roads

Such advice was given to Omsk authorities by Moscow urbanist from Higher School of Economics Michael Blinkin at the TV show called Urbanization which is broadcast on Prodvizhenie channel. He thinks that it is useless to construct new roads in Omsk and to solve the problem of transport connection and traffic jams Omsk authorities need to develop the infrastructure of public transport. Michael said that road junctions are one of the most expensive way to get rid of traffic jams and two of Omsk streets have road junction but it doesn’t help because instead of two lines at the traffic light there is one and very big. Omsk is not the city where such methods can be used that’s why Omsk officials need to pay attention to street railways and improve this type of public transport. According to the urbanist to make street railways more popular is very easy for example to make convenient ticket service or online boards.
