A new hockey academy soon will be built in Omsk
The regional city planners have already approved the building project of sports-educational complex which will be built near Irtysh bank next year. The project was presented today on the meeting of regional architectural and town-planning council. So the academy will accommodate one thousand students and children will be able to take up sport without paying less attention to their school programme. Also the academy will have a hotel for 156 people, two ice arenas - one is for training and the other is for holding matches with a places for 1000 people. On the second and third floors will be exercise room, universal gym and residential treatment center. Plus there will be parking space for sportsmen and common people. The author of the project Sergey Tsytsyn from St.-Petersburg told that the facade of the building will be fenced in metal panels which will give a dynamic look to the building. Also Sergey told that they have been thinking for a long time about the right image of the building and also it was necessary that the building embodies the energy and sport spirit.

Aleksand Popov is the best shooter in the history of Avangard
The forward Aleksand Popov is in the list of the best hockey players from Omsk hockey team and put down another hockey player Maksim Sushinsiy. Aleksand Popov held a record at the last match which took place in Vladivostok where Avangard played against Admiral. Aleksandr made two goal passes and thanks to that the player got 411 points during his career in Avangard and became the best shooter of the team. Earlier this title belonged to forward Maksim Sushinskiy who played for Siberian club from 1997 to 2005 and made 171 goals, 239 passes in 412 matches. Also Aleksandr Popov is the record-holder of numbers of played seasons, matches and utility indicator.
