Omsk biathlonist will take part in World championship
The previous day it became known who is going to be in the line-up of Russian women national team which will go to World championship and this time it will take place in Finland from March 5 to March 15. Eight biathlonists will form our Russian national team they are Yana Romanova, Daria Virolaynen, Ekaterina Glazyrina, Olga Podchufarova, Ekaterina Shumilova, Ekaterina Urlova, Irina Trusova and Olga Yakushova as a reserve player. The last meeting of the team before World championship will be in Ruhpolding, Germany and after that the coaches will name six biathlonists who will represent Russia on that World championship. As experts are saying Yana Romanova has all chances to be in that list of six biathlonists she will take part in relay race and probably in some other type related to biathlon.

It's time for pancakes: Russians celebrating Pancake week
Today in Russia the Pancake week has begun and according to all traditions people are suppose to have fun outside and make many pancakes which again according to russian traditions represent the sun. From 16th to 22nd of February Russian people will have a week when they have to make pancakes and visit all their relatives and friends. The Slavs used to celebrate this holiday during the vernal equinox and the main idea was to make peace with nature in order to get a good harvest. Right after the Pancake week is going to be a great fast which will last from 23rd of February up to 11th of April and on the 12th of April will be the holiday of Easter. So during all seven days people are suppose to have fun, go outside with their relative and friends and to go sledge, make fires and make pancakes. On Monday people used to make scarecrows and walk along the streets with it. On Tuesday people visit their close friends and treat the guests with pancakes. On Wednesday mothers-in-law suppose to make a delicious dinner for their sons-in-law and to make it even better they can envite other ralatives. On Thursday men used to participate in fisticuffs and also there were horse racing so the main idea of Thursday is to get rid of all bad energy and to resolve all problems with other people. On Friday mothers-in-law go to houses of their sons-in-law and eat pancakes there. So Saturday is a special day when young wives invite oldest sisters of their husbands and treat them with pancakes. And finally Sunday is the most important day of the week when all religious people and just those who honour this holiday ask each other for forgiveness and in reply they hear the answer that God will forgive them.
