Channel Prodvizhenie will reconstruct the city's ancient musical chimes

The reconstruction works in central tower where the musical chimes are located will be done by 2016 the year of 300th Omsk anniversary. Omsk television company adressed the letter to Omsk city hall with a suggestion of reconstructing the main Omsk landmark and received the approval. In their letter Omsk city hall informed that the mechanism of the clock-chimes doesn't need the capital repair at the moment. At the same time Omsk television company is planning to install lighting of the clock-face and a new bell. Over a hundred years ago Moscow merchants presented this clock-chimes to Omsk in gratitude for opening the Cloth hall. Right now it is a group of historical buildings with dominating structure of 15 meter long tower which is the historical and cultural centre of Omsk and also the favourite place for walking and recreation of Omsk citizens.

Omsk citizens may get on pages of literary calendar

As 2015 was declared to be the year of literature Omsk municipal libraries came up with a new project according to which they will create a calendar called Twelve months for 2016. Everyone can get on glossy pages of the calendar you just need to take a part in a photo contest. All you need to do is to take pictures of your friends or yourself as a characters from your favourite books. All the pictures will be posted in one of social networks Vkontakte and there will be an open voting those pictures which score the highest points will be in the literary calendar.

Omsk pupils might get one-week holidays

Frosty weather which will prevail during the next week might make some changes in learning process of all Omsk pupils. Omsk Department of Education is advising to release pupils from schools if the temperature will be too low. So if the temperature will be lower than 86 °F in that case pupils from 1 to 4 grades will stay at home and if the temperature will be lower than 89.6 °F so pupils from 5 to 9 grades should stay at home. As for senior pupils they will stay at home if the temperature is lower than 95 °F. And for those who haven't seen the weather forecast for the next week starting from tomorrow it's going to be a cold snap. Wind will come from south-west and will be 3-8 meters per second, the night temperature will be up to minus 98.6 °F and in northen regions up to minus 104 °F as for the day temperature it will be from minus 80.6 °F to 89.6 °F.
