McDonald’s won’t live long in Omsk

The representative of LDPR fraction Jan Zelinskiy made a very harsh speech in the lower house of parliament about famous fast-food restaurant McDonald’s which has been just opened in Omsk. He wants the regulatory authorities to check McDonald’s weekly and also he is planning to do small protests in front of the shopping mall MEGA. Jan Zelinskiy is sure that the pinnacle of McDonald’s activity will be its shutdown.

In Omsk oblast two people attacked gas-tank truck

The driver of gas-tank truck Skania refused to sell gas at below cost price to two unknown men and as a result almost kissed his life goodbye. Two insulted men caught up with the driver on the road and threatened him with a gun. The driver was saved by the happy occurrence. The criminals’ car engine died out and thanks to that the driver could get to the first gas station and called the police.

Omsk universities will look after public gardens

At the conference with heads of the universities the mayor Vyacheslav Dvorakovskiy stated that everybody should support the idea of making Omsk greener according to the programme City-garden. The mayor proposed to all universities not only to look after the public gardens but also think about some sculptures which would reflect the identity of each university.

The cargo with Polish apples was detained near Omsk border

In the night of November 1st Omsk frontier guards detained the van which was going from Kazakhstan to Krasnoyarsk. Inside the van was about 20 tons of fruit delivered from Poland and Moldova. The frontier guards found some hundreds of cases with tangerines, apples, pears, kiwi and grapes. And Russia put an embargo on agricultural production of these countries. The driver was given a warning and the cargo was sent back to Kazakhstan.

Aviator monument will be fixed up in Omsk

The new memorial will be fixed up at Liza Chaykinoy Street in honour of the 70th anniversary of Great Victory in World War II. The place for the monument has already been chosen it is near Omsk engine manufacturing plant in the name of Baranova. According to press-service of Omsk administration the engine manufacturing plant will fix up the monument. And it will be near the entrance to the engine manufacturing plant.
